How do you get your lines so crisp? Mine always come out fuzzy or scrappy...

I use a fine tip Sharpie on 11x17 glossy paper and scan it in at 300dpi; the file is huge (3500x5250 at 180pix/inch). From here, I can clean up the "scrappy" edges of the drawing, which usually results from pourous paper or an unsteady hand. Shrinking this file down after it's colored helps keep the "crisp" look.
If you use Photoshop, you can get rid of the grays that surround your blacks by using the Threshold tool.
Another way to avoid the "fuzzy" look is to save your files as BMPs instead of JPEGs. The files will be huge, but they'll hold their color without getting that "water color" look that JPEGs get.
